Beautiful "State of Colorado Adjutant General's Certificate of Service" for Private Henry C. Harrington of Company "B", 1st Colorado Cavalry. Harrington joined July 31st, 1861 at Central City, Colorado Territory and was discharged October 8th, 1864 at Denver, Colorado Territory. The 1st Colorado Cavalry, including Private Harrington, fought Indians and Rebels during their time in service. They are most famous for the "Sand Creek Massacre" of Black Kettle's Cheyenne Indians in November, 1864. Some edge wear as shown in the scan, otherwise in good condition.
