Spectacular view of Bentz, the bugler at West Point for many years. This came from a late 1860's Howitzer (West Point yearbook) and I was lucky enough to purchase it several years ago. Superb contrast and clarity, about the size of a cabinet card. Wear to edges as shown in the scan. No photographers imprint but most likely taken by "Pach Bros." of New York. You don't see them this nice anymore!

West Point Cemetery: "Near the northwest corner of the old section is the unique memorial to "Old Bentz" the Bugler. He was a musician at West Point for thirty-two years, and upon his death the Corps of Cadets purchased his marker. It is the only one in the cemetery that is all metal.
