"Let Us Forgive, but not Forget" Western Andersonville Survivors Association one page imprinted newsletter. Dated from "Chicago, Illinois, 1879", the imprinted letter basically explains the purpose of the Association and the need for any survivor to join it. Makes for some very interesting reading! In fine condition, there is one very small edge tear on the very top margin which affects nothing. $125.00 plus shipping Additional info from the web: In the wake of the publicity surrounding the trial, former prisoners founded the "Andersonville Survivors Association" and the "National Ex-Prisoners of War Association" to lobby Congress for disability pension legislation. The "Survivors" claimed that the mere fact of having spent the summer of 1864 at Andersonville should be adequate evidence of permanent disability.
