Superb war date Gen. G. K. Warren ALS, referring Irish Brigade (63rd NY Infantry) Captain Thomas Cartwright to New York's Governor Fenton. Warren had served in the famous Duryea's Zouaves (5th NY Infantry) with Cartwright's son, Thomas (Jr.) and he writes about how Captain Tom (Jr.) was twice wounded during the war and how he died in the service of his country.
A great letter written on imprinted letterhead, and besides a few minor fold splits, is in fine condition.
